04 – Preserving British Craftsmanship

Since 1850, Dalman & Narborough has remained committed to producing Highland regalia in Great Britain.

We continue to manufacture traditional Highland dress accessories from our workshop in Birmingham, using techniques shaped by generations of skilled craftsmanship. At a time when much of the industry has shifted overseas, British production remains fundamental to our approach.

British manufacturing has long been synonymous with precision, consistency, and meticulous attention to detail. These qualities are not achieved through speed alone, but through experience, expertise, and an unwavering commitment to the standards expected of ceremonial dress.

As a trade-only manufacturing partner, we work closely with premium outfitters throughout Scotland and beyond, producing pieces that honour Highland heritage while meeting the expectations of modern wearers. Maintaining this level of quality and consistency at scale is only possible through careful control of materials, finishing, and production within our own workshop.  The finest Highland regalia is created to be worn at weddings, formal occasions, and life’s most significant milestones, these pieces often become part of a family’s story, passed down through generations as lasting symbols of tradition and pride.

Today, traditional British manufacturing face growing challenges as specialist skills become increasingly difficult to preserve. Yet there is also a renewed appreciation for products defined by authenticity, provenance, and longevity. For Dalman & Narborough, preserving British craftsmanship is not simply about honouring the past. It is about continuing to invest in the skills, standards, and specialist knowledge that define exceptional manufacturing today.
